This is a brilliant article by Kevin DeYoung looking at what is becoming an increasingly popular way to talk about the Gospel. It is in response to a recent interview with Shane Claiborne in Esquire.
DeYoung observes that there is a pattern:
- It usually starts with an apology.
- Then there is an appeal to God as love.
- Thirdly there is an invitation to join God on His mission in the world.
- Finally there is ambivalence about eternity.
